Here are the answers to a couple most common questions:
What vehicles qualify for the car donation program?
Your used car donation can also be a truck, van, RV, boat, trailer, plane or motorcycle (practically any type of automobile), running or not in most cases (some restrictions may apply). Even land lots and real estate can be donated.
What is required when I make a car donation?
To process your used car donation application, we just require your valid Certificate of Title and current registration.
VDPC, Inc., operates the car donation program. We are a vehicle processing agent for the Cancer Fund of America. Donating a car is an easy, no hassle procedure. We handle everything for you to help make the used car donation process quick and painless:
- We provide all the forms and documentation for the IRS
- We provide all the forms and documentation for the vehicle transfer of ownership
- We arrange for the towing of your charitable car donation (at no cost to you)
In most areas we can accept any type of automobile for a donation (used car, truck, motorcycle, van, recreational vehicle, etc.) running or not. We also accept boats, time-shares, real estate, and mobile homes (some restrictions may apply).
In return for your used car donation:
- You may be eligible for tax deductible benefit on your itemized tax return (check with your tax accountant)
- The net proceeds from your charitable donation will go to support the work of the Cancer Fund of America, a non-profit organization
- The proceeds will help relieve the financial burden of individuals with cancer and their families.
- Proceeds from your donation will not be used to conduct cancer research, but to provide support and services to financially impoverished cancer patients and to those for whom research may be too late.
